Armani Prive Spring 2011

I was really surprised by the Armani show.  Usually he falls into the nice, but pay it no mind category for me.  Not so with this Spring 2011 Collection.  I love the fabrics, and the cuts are really interesting.  The whole thing has a very sci-fi, futuristic vibe complete with flying saucer hats by Philip Treacy .  It all looks like it's made out of electricity, or ribbon candy, or electric ribbon candy, or something.  Yeah.   My favorite looks are below, but check out the whole collection over at Style.com.

Look at the fabric up close!  To quote the review by Tim Blanks on Style.com "By some feat of fabric technology, a mirror effect managed to give organza a reflective quality. Silk was threaded with metal to produce a sheen.  Sweeping collars and bodices that looked molded from some hard alien material were actually supple and light."  I love that bag too.

Love that neckline.

Look at that, it's like it's being held up by magic, or some serious feat of engineering. And again, I like the bag.
