Hank III + Fashion Party = Huh?

During the recent lull in fashion show coverage I was looking through images on Style.com from different parties that went on during NY fashion week.  I ran across this photo and thought to myself, "that guy looks like Hank III."  Well that's because it is Hank III, Morgan.  Hank Williams III played at a fashion week party, what is the world coming to!?!

Looking at this photo it can seem like, "what's the big deal? He doesn't look that out of place." The thing is that from what I have read about him and heard in his music, Hank III does not strike me as the kind of person who gives a shit about fashion.  At all.  Which is not to say that he doesn't have cool style, but his clothing choices strike me as being less about looking good and more about being a way for him to say, "fuck you," to the world around him.   Observe.

All of these images are from Hank3.com.  The party that he was playing was to celebrate Adam Kimmel's collaboration with Carhartt.  Adam Kimmel, a man who has created the following looks for the men in your life for fall.  Maybe you noticed the shirt here, I'm more disturbed by the easy-fits.

And this looks like man sized baby clothes.

Some of Kimmel's previous collections are better, but a lot of it is kinda douchey looking.  I certainly don't fault Hank for playing the party because when you get down to it, money is money, and we've all got bills to pay.

Let's finish on a good note, shall we?  The following photo was taken during the filming of the movie The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, which if you haven't seen I strongly encourage you to check it out because it is fucking ridiculous.  It's about the White family whose patriarch, D. Ray White, was a mountain dancing legend.  They are all various shades of crazy, and Hank III is apparently friends with the family and has a song called "Legend of D. Ray White" honoring their father.  Below we see Jesco White (D. Ray's son who is a Famous Mountain Dancer himself), Storm Taylor and Hank III.  I love that he is wearing a Slayer shirt under that vest, which looks like it's an over sized child's costume, but it belonged to Hasil Adkins

Here's a quick clip from the film with Hank III playing his song "Straight to Hell" while Jesco dances.
