Prada Fall RTW 2011

I had an interesting experience at Prada once here in Chicago.  They have one of their stores in the Gold Coast, and one Saturday my best friend and I decided we wanted to go to all the stores we can't afford to shop in and touch the expensive clothes.  We stopped in Prada and there were two other women in the store who obviously could afford to buy things there, unlike the two of us.  One of the women looked like she had forgotten to put on pants that morning.  She was wearing this billowy, extremely short mini dress that barely covered her goods.  The store is two floors and we ended up behind her going up the stairs at which point we became privy to the fact that she was not wearing underwear.  Did I mention that she and her shopping companion had a small child with them?  No?  Well they did.  I'm not sure which woman was the mother, but that kid got a free show all day.

Anyway, how about that Prada show?  Some of it was super cool, some of it was ridiculous.  I'm including my favorites below along with a couple things that were head-scratchers.

This coat is cool, but look at those freaky boot/shoe things.

Lets get a closer look, eh?

What is happening there?  It looks like snake socks.  Like you skinned a snake and then just slipped your foot into the end of it.  It's both odd, and pleasing.

These next two looks are cute, but the boots (I'm gonna go ahead and say they're boots) are awesome.

This next one is some of the weirdness.  Now I love dyed fur, but these lapels look like they've been sodded.

These look like grass patches, which is sort of awesome.

Don't think I missed the freaky flesh sock thing that was going on up there.  The ones above look like suede, but these in leather bring to mind the phrase, "It puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again."

Yikes.  Moving on.  This jacket is strange and good.

Then things got really good.  Out came a bunch of fish scaly looking garments that made me all swoony

 Want all.

Then a few dresses that looked like they were made of old curtain sheers came out.

No thank you.  Then the good stuff came back and everything was all right again.

So good.  have some close-ups.

That last grouping of boots was pretty pretty, so here are a few close-up of those as well.
