In my mind moths vary from being mildly creepy, to severely evil when they are destroying my cashmere sweater. Bastards! However, I can admit that moths are cool to look at, they're really earthy looking often mimicking the look of wood or leaves or huge eyes on their wings as a means of survival. So lets take a moment to appreciate the ways that some designers have used the moth in their work.
This first one is my favorite, it's a brooch by Ross Heywood and it can be found on Etsy. It's a bronze cast of a carving the artist did out of deer antler, which is pretty awesome.
This is the Moth Necklace by Carrie Bilbo, made from a cast of an actual moth.
Here we have the Summer Evening Peridot Moth Ring from seller Artigiano Jewel Box on Etsy. I want it.
Want some moth clothing, I got yer moth clothing. Moth Wing Top by RACHEL Rachel Roy.
This Moth T-shirt by Alexander McQueen is kinda pricey at $445, but it is very pretty.
Ribbons Samurai T-shirt, also by McQueen, same price.
McQueen again, this time a scarf. Moth-Wing Circle Scarf can be found at Neiman Marcus for $475.
I'm sure at this point you're thinking, "Wtf, Morgan, I can't afford any of this shit." Me neither. Not even kind of. Here are Organic Cotton Leggings with Luna Moths Screen Print, they're $47 by seller Pretty Penny Designs on Etsy, that's a little more manageable.
And finally if you really want to get creative there is Luna Moth Fabric from lots of different sellers on Etsy in a variety of colors.
