So a little background information about me: I don't own a couch. I used to have a couch, and hopefully that disgustingly ugly hand-me-down-piece-of-shit is burning in hell somewhere. It was this hideous, tan, micro fiber, over stuffed horror that the cats loved to throw up on and the dog used to pee on, like up on the cusions where you sit, it was psychotic. Apparently the animals hated it as much as I did. When we moved I knew we would not be dragging that thing along with us to the new place so I started looking for a new couch. We didn't have tons to spend, and I was also wary of getting anything I really liked only to have it destroyed by the animals within a couple months. We had an extra double bed, and so I decided we would just use that as a living room sitting area. I covered it with a quilt and put a bunch of pillows on it, and it works perfectly for us. My husband and I can both be laying on it (which we both like to do) and there's still room to spare, and if the animals make a mess on it, I can just wash the quilt. I love the loungey-ness of the bed in the living room, but sometimes I wish we had something a little more like a real sofa.
One of these beauties could fit the bill don't you think? Mah Jong Modular Sofa designed by Hans Hopfer in Missoni Home Fabrics. I want this super bad, but the cats (those evil fuckers) would ruin it in no time.
Here's another in different, non-Missoni, so therefore less fabulous fabric, but you can see what's happening here. I know what you're thinking, "This just looks like cusions on the floor." You're not wrong, but I still like it.
Anagramme Modular Sofa, also by Hans Hopfer.
Another Mah Jong.
And another Mah Jong, but this time dressed in Jean Paul Gaultier Sailor collection fabric. I love it.
More Jean Paul Gaultier, inCouture fabrics, which are amazing! I hope the dress comes with it.
Look at it up close, can you stand it!?! I want, bad. Lace print on a sofa makes me say yes, as does pixelated black and white kissy face photos.
